Many retailers are joining forces to bring you a rewards program that gives you points and lets you redeem rewards at a wide selection of stores. The program is the brain child of American Express, who wants to give non-cardholders a program to participate in without having the American Express credit card. It was first started in the Spring of 2015. So far some major retailers have jumped on board with the largest being Rite Aid and Macys. Both stores did not have a way for customers to earn perks prior to joining Plenti. We can expect to see more retailers joining in on the program in the coming months.
Since the loyalty program is owned by American Express, they will allow customers to transfer membership rewards points they earned using their Amex card to their new Plenti account. Unfortunately, AMEX cardholders will not earn points simply for making the purchase on their American Express, you have to use the Plenti card. If you don’t want to carry around another loyalty card, you can also download the app and then show it to retailers at checkout.

How Does Plenti Rewards Work?
- Sign-up for the free Plenti Rewards program. If you sign-up online you will earn at least 200 introductory points. You will then receive a loyalty card in the mail within 10-14 days. You must be at least 13 years old and reside in the United States or its territories to participate.
- Shop at a participating store and at checkout show your Plenti rewards card. You will earn 1 point for every dollar you spend. You can increase points earned by taking advantage of weekly offers. I have seen offers such as earn 5000 bonus points when you buy a select product. See examples of these weekly offers here.
- Redeem your points at various retailers. 1000 Plenti rewards points will get you $10 off at checkout! Points have no monetary value and will expire after 2 years. Participating partners and offers are subject to change without notice and are subject to geographic availability, location exclusions and additional terms.
